LENT 2011 UMChurch
What is Lent season,for me? I attended my 3rd Ash Wednesday,but this year,it was to honor some elderly church members who count on me to, at times, serve as their Pastor...I've served as a Chaplain,and this is not much different...many times the help is physical. Anyway,I went & prayed in the gap,for some...took ashes off,when home,as Jesus Kept that command,for me:Job & David did enough of that:The LORD has annointed my head with oil(Placed me in His Vessel,called Jesus). I received this word...repent & believe The Gospel,while others heard dust you are ,dust you shall return,Jesus also did that,for me. I did receive a Psalm(42):also,for today,this is enough,as I am also working on a 6 weeks teaching journey(yes,I also teach).
Lent Season 2011
I have decided that this lent season must conform to my Bible,so I've asked Holy Spirit of God to expose Truths to me;Biblical standandars.
To do this,I must go back in time,and one step at a time.
This would be "Pentecost",or Shavout,a Jewish feast day Shavuot is the day on which we recall the giving of the Torah on Sinai. The Torah itself does not explicitly mention the connection. It merely says, “You shall count fifty days (from the second day of Pesach)… and you shall proclaim on that selfsame day: It shall be a holy convocation unto you.”(Please see chabad,org for more detailed defining). First fruits.
Galatians 5:22 describes the Fruit of The Spirit;note,singular word.
All do not have all gifts,but all can and strive toward This fruit,which all can have all of.
